how to drop the front of my '81

    1981 2wd longbed..starsky and hutch colored
    id like to drop it 2-2 3/4" up front. ive got some 16x7 rims on the way and would like to close the gap between wheel and well a bit. any suggestions?

    crank the torsion bars all the way down and flip the ball joint.... thats about all i know... at least thats all i hae been told.:waytogo::waytogo:

    Crank the torsions untill your happy. I have 16x8's on my 80. I'm about to do a balljoint flip too though.

    ..and so how do i adjust the torsion bars? no idea where they are located let alone messing with em lol. pictures to aid, perhaps?

    Do a search, im sure someone has pics in there build log.

    If you climb under the truck, there should be 2 bolts sticking down by the trans area. One on each side. Its a double lock nut. Loosen it and crank it.

    X2 on that I believe the jam nuts are 21 or 22 mm and the adjuster is the same... crack the jam nuts free and turn the adjuster to where you want it:waytogo::waytogo:
