I crawled under my 90 SR5 to see if I could drop the oil without lifting the truck. Sure enough I could if I could figure out how to reach the oil filter:confused: While under there I noticed it's easy to drop most of the fluids without a jack if I position the truck's engine compartment over a gully/dip in the yard:waytogo:

I did it through the driver side wheel well. I have long skinny arms so it was a little easier for me. its a little tough but you'll get it. I think i also did it from the top of the engine bay.

Pull the skidplate and you can get to the filter underneath the alternator. Put a rag underneath the filter to help keep the block clean. Thats how I did it on my 90 V6 4wd excab.

    Hope that helps.

Yes, those suggestions will help. I have big fat mitts and there seems to be little room for them to access the oil filter. I'll try again tomorrow as I'd like to drop the oil ASAP.
