Here's what's left of Trixie, my parts truck: On the one hand, I'd like to overhaul that engine and replace anything and everything that might give trouble in the future. On the other, I've got time and money budgets to consider. So maybe I'll do my best to clean the outside, seal up vacuum holes in the intake, put on the Weber 32/36, and drop it in. I've had a look under the valve cover and the timing guides look okay. It's got 186k on it, but clearly, things have been done to it. Even though the frame was shot, the engine ran fine. I can always overhaul the block I take out of Pablo instead. But before I take that short cut, I'm wondering how much life is left in this clutch. Should I just use it as is? I drive pretty gently. How long will it last? I see SACHS printed on the clutch itself. I could look up the model number for comparison but I haven't yet.
Sachs makes a good clutch and that setup doesn't look all that old plus there appears to be plenty of meat on the disc. I say run it.
