My horn sounds like a toy car. Does anyone have ideas for replacement w/o having to put in a relay? Autozone has this one but who knows how loud it will be.Blazer/Horn (BH101LC) | AutoZone.com

I put an air horn in my 88 Dodge Dakota long bed.Just mounted a small compressor and tank in the bed and ran a toggle switch for power and another for the horn up in the front.I also made the tank with a quick release fitting for other uses like air fills or whatever(it was an off road truck on 35's)I also mounted a goats head in the front like a hood ornament.I used mess with the neighborhood kids. They would see the goats head and be like "wow" so I would stop and let them touch it then I would blast the horn and freak them out.LOL whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirmp.

The one listed is an OE style, designed as a factory replacement so one would assume not much louder then factory. Why don't you want to put a relay in? More loud usually necessitates more power. You could buy a low tone and a high tone OE horn and wire both of them up through a relay, or get one of those dual trumpet air horn kits. Usually under $40 and come with everything you need; 2 horns, tubing, compressor, wiring, and the relay. Take about half hour to install and are definitely loud. Put one in a buddy's Ranger, worked out great.

I tried to hookup an oooga horn before and the relay gave me problems so, I gave up on it.

My mkii supra comes with 3 horns I remove both in the front, installed a clark forklift electric horn plus the stock one from the fire wall. It gave it a cyborg kind of feel to the horn pretty cool actually. That's what im going to do with my pickup plus an air horn for especial occasions like for people that are too into their cellphone communication and don't notice the green lights. ;-)

I'm a fan of the "big rig" sounding horn. like dis

But I will say, for the price, those harbor freight horns sound like a good deal.
