I wanted to know if the best way to get rid of dings that can not be pulled out is to 'BONDO'? I was also curious on how to 'shave' certain parts. Will 16 gauge do or do you just 'bondo' that as well? Thanks for your time.

i use a stud gun so all dents and dings are pullable. i have a hand attachment for pulling the little dings. 16 gauge will be fine since most body panels are around 18ga. for things like handles and big items you need to weld in a filler, then fill. weld slowly to avoid warping, and to reduce the amount of filler needed.
