Hey all I am new here and I had a question. I know this guy who has a sick 1984 toyota hi lux longbed that was built into a seriously low static dropped mini way back in the late eighties ! Its way cool, has baby moons, trick faded paint complete with surf stickers...it looks like it came out of 1989 !!! The problem is the motor has a spun bearing and that it has sat out under trees for the last 10 years ! Its not really rusty...but it is infested with bugs and even has tall grass growing in the bed !!! Now the deal here is that he is willing to take my perfectly running 1989 plymouth reliant and 100.00 extra bucks in trade for this awsome piece of mini history.....but that plymouth is the best running car I got right now.....WHAT SHOULD I DO ????

I say, offer cash as you will still need a daily driver while repairing the motor. Of course photos always help in the "help you decide" department at TM
But seriously, if you are at a stage in your life where you could afford it and the associated cost of restoring it to a running condition, I say why not go for it :waytogo:

would have to see pics of the truck and if you could afford to get the motor repaired/replaced would also have to be taken in account

thanks ...I will take some pics next week so you all can see what I am talking about. I would offer cash but I dont have that much green in my pockets right now. I would love to get it just to store it until I have the funds to restore it at least. I have other cars to drive, but the little plymouth runs the best and is the most reliable. I'd rather try and sell it to get the cash and buy the truck and maybe come out with the money to buy the parts to get it going again.....but no one has responded to my ad !!! :(

Cant wait to see the pics. Add to that, I agree on the cash only offer because its hard to walk everywhere to gather supplies and such . . .

Thanks... I just made a deal with the guy and he will deliver it to my house on friday. I cant wait to pull that thing apart. Speaking of which...he said that it knocked...I am thinking rod n main bearings. When I pull it I'd like to put a 20r head on it...I have not checked in years.. but are these still avaliable ? What options do I have in building a hot motor ? When I built my other trucks years ago the only options were Downy and LC Engineering...whos out there now ?
