    Hey guys and gals....

Just finished installing my new Monroe MA803 rear shocks, went exactly by the instructions and for the most part went fairly smooth.

Had to switch bushings with my old GR-2 shocks I removed and was able to mount them..... The lower mount of the shock is crooked on both shocks which is odd and yes Air valves are facing towards the center an the left shock is on the driver side and right shock on the passenger side. Also the shocks are at quite an angle and not really seeing how they would raise the truck up.

So on the drive to the gas station to put air in them I was at 0, ride was very bouncy, then I put 20 in and left.... Still bouncy. So I went home and checked all my lines to make sure they were good. Then headed back and tried to see how high I could air them and it was hard to get it past 75-80 psi(max for these is 150)... Drove off at 70 psi and still bouncy/harsh ride and it didn't lift the height of the truck at all. Let 20 psi and driving around at 50 right now which is the best ride I've found with these but still horrible ride, worse than my blown ones I pulled off.

What should I do? Heading on a 300 mile drive tomorrow night and want to fix this before!

    Thanks a ton!
    Ronnie

Well I figured it out and will set the record straight about which part # to use with what application your running.....

MA-803's are for really low trucks that have more than 3 inch block mods
MA-727's are perfect for 3 inch blocks to stock.

I got the 803's off of what everybody recommend after giving them my set up..... Very much wrong. Installed them and they wouldn't air up not ride good, very bouncy! Switched them out for the 727's and now it floats...... Ride is amazing!

Hope this helps any other nobs looking for the same thing.

    My setup
Front - Ball joint flip with two washers and a little torsion crank and KYB GR-2 shocks
Rear - 3 inch blocks with MA-727 Monroe Air Shocks

yea... your setup would require "stock" length shocks since the shock mounting points are not shortened with blocks out back. the only thing that changes is the position of your rear axle, thus the travel on the shock stays the same. had you per say had 3" drop springs, then the MA803's would have been appropriate for your setup.

i dont remember if i replied to your thread or not but sorry if we gave you the wrong advice.

i do have a list here handy with shock part numbers, travel lengths, and ideal setups that ill be publishing here soon. keep an eye out for it.
