so my timing chain is rattling. i have about 152k miles on my truck. i have heard multiple things of what to do. 1. get a new timing chain kit and change the whole chain set up, 2. change the oil pump, 3. Change the guides and the tensioner.

so far i like 3 the best...

i was wondering if anyone had info on how much it would cost to buy the parts (guides/tensioner) and if anyone had a write up or a link to something that will help me change these things

if you have any ideas or input please share! thank you!

I changed everything!! While your there you might as well.
Got the whole front end kit from http://www.engnbldr.com/, very good price with a very good guarantee!!!

I was dumb and put in the bottom sprocket backwards and broke it, e-mailed Ted, the owner, and sent a new one out right away, no questions.

Pretty easy and straight forward what you have to do.
There are links out there explaining step by step, just Google it....

Always replace the entire TC assy, and while you have everythig torn apart replace the oil pump and water pump too. Even the belts.

No need to replace the TC cover unless the chain has started wearing a hole thru the side.

All you have to do is remove the radiator, fan, drain the coolant, pull off the timing cover, and wala! Repair, clean the front of the engine, drain oil, reinstall parts, and top-off fluids and drive away happy... Unless you cant tell the difference between a piston or a girls titty, you should be fine! Just take your time, read the dirrections, and double check your work.
