I started out of order and posted a question in the 1984 - 1988 Interior/Electronics section before introducing myself. Last week, I purchased a 1987 4x4 SWB Regular cab pickup with a stock 22R motor. I have tinkered with cars and trucks for many years, but this is my first Toyota truck (wife has a Sienna minivan). My goal is to put together a dependable daily driver that I can also use as a trail rig sometimes. Last night I received the (used) factory service manual I found online, and today I received my order from LCE. First up will be a better under-hood cleanup, followed by a new valve cover gasket, plugs, wires, cap & rotor, battery cables, needed hoses & belts, and then a new Weber 32/36 car kit (with high altitude re-jetting kit). As much as I would like to begin now, my week is already full, so it will probably be next week before I have a chance to really get started. I look forward to seeing what others are doing, and I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge and experiences with me. Jim
Welcome to TM! Sounds like you have a nice start up to get going on with your truck already. Lets see some pics of the new Toy!
