Started getting the motor ready to pull today and I'm curious to know if there is a main harness plug for the injectors ,or do I have to unplug each injector and pull the harness out of the intale manifod? It looks very tight in there, Im not seeing much room to remove the injector plugs.

This may seem like a dumb question, but the last engine removal I performed there was a injector harness main connector that I just simply disconnected and that was it. Toyota 4x4s have these?

you have to unplug each injector and pull it through the manifold..just did mine about 5 months ago

    I was afraid of that.

Any pointers to make that less painless?

Taking off the top half of the intake manifold makes it easier. The fuel line for the cold start injector also has to come off before you can split the manifold. I'm pretty sure you can just take the plugs off the main injectors without removing them. There are also a few ground straps from the harness that attach down low on the side of the manifold. The harness is also one big long piece that goes all the way back to the starter, reverse switch, and 02 sensor. It is pretty irritating, no way around that.

we just did a head gasket/timing chain job and i left the upper and lower intake together.i removed the whole intake and left it in there off to the side.im pretty sure you could have pulled the motor with the intake laying off to the side because i thought about doing it myself.alot of bolts to undo and one hidden one that is hard one to get to but i never messed with the injectors.i did change the filter since i could get to it with the intake off.
