While doing some vacuum line removal I pulled a line off and some gas came out. The cap I am pointing at is where the line previously was. Why would there be gas in this line?
Are you still running the oem carb , or has it been rebuilt ? If its a high mileage carb it could be leaking fuel after being shut off . May be time for a weber carb conversion which in most cases you only have one vacuum line for the distributer vacuum
that little valve thing gives the carb a bit more fuel when it's cold. if there is gas in the line then the diaphragm (i want to call it the secondary accelerator pump or something to that effect) is torn.
Toy88ota, I dig the weber advice! I have spent the last year fixing that and fixing this on that stock carb and eventually gave up the chase. Weber is a sinch to install and I hope that all my carb troubles will cease or at least not be a continuous issue! I would "can" the stock carb and put something on there you can actually get parts for!!!! Just my 2 cents that are worth 1! cheers!
