I started lowering the front of the toyota,

my question is, it's sitting on the bump stops, do I remove these?

You can, but it will ride a little better if you cut them down and put them back so the control arm is not crashing on the frame every time you hit a big bump.

if you pull them out I'd leave them out

    here's my resoning
if you cut them down you still wont have that much travel and youll keep bottoming out

factory bump stops are made to be a progresive cushing meaning that the farther you go to the base the softer the rubber is kinda like a coil spring on a car the first coils are the stiffest and the center coil is very soft

so youll still bottom out(alittle more) you just wont have the hard metal to metal stop

might wanna hit up beefed taco..... he makes low profile stops that are about 1/2" tall or so. that way you still have some cusion for that sudden pot hole or hard bump in the road that gets ya....

well as you can imagine what that feels like...... imagine the force involved there..... now think about it since there is no give point in the suspension now or a way to soften the blow/shock to the rest of the truck, that force now transfers to everything surrounding that area...... hit it enough times or hit it hard enough and you'll soon discover the weakest point in the suspension that will allow that "give/cussion" you no longer have............. witch usually ends up being the lower ball joint :doah:

i jus cut the entire bumpstop off including the metal piece etc and the ride was smooooooooooooth lots of play and alot less bouncy. the only thing that will bottom out is the tires and the wheel well.

    I trimmed my front bumpstops.
Perfect for me because it has a few mm of travel on the bumpstop to the frame. which is an inch or so on the tire, maybe less. I'm not riding so the truck will take a bump. and when i corner hard, it'll roll into the camber and then once it's on the bumpstop, it's all grip from there on.
