i couldnt get traction for crap. 2nd was the worst. then 3rd still spun. I was probably at a real 8-9psi since the bov diaphram was that bad. But it was so much fun. The truck ran great and drove it home. couldnt be much happier. every one there just gave me the look of shame when I showed up, then I blew peoples doors off and got tons of respect lol.

Was funny as hell. I love the commentary in the first video.

Yes but the tech was the only one who saw it.

Yes I won both runs. I was the fastest in my class of like 5 trucks. then there were the 10 sec diesel trucks. I could have gone on but just wanted a baseline.

ill make another pass as soon as I get the new injectors and bigger lines in, traction bars installed, and I have the slicks so thats about it.

With the slicks and more fuel and hopefully no boost leaks ill crank the boost to 18psi with race gas and have the slicks and hope ill make a high 12 pass.

V8 makes a point..... but like he said.... no traction, boost leak small factors can make a big difference on the strip. I can assure you all that and Supra engine in these trucks offers tire spin through several gears!

I think low 12's are commin your way man! Just by doing what you said.

But on another note...... what are you running for a diff??

yeah i was a litt disappointed at first but pull in the facts here.

No traction, PERIOD. theres so much torque and I couldnt launch hard at all. launched at 2500rpm and still no real solid tune.

12 psi is like stock. leaking out the bov like a mother.

stock 440 injectors running a small walbro pump thru a 1/4" fuel line! yeah im limited very much.

Im no where near pushing this engine at all. once I get traction, tune, and more fuel, you'll say other wise. yes its a lot of work and money to do this kind of stuff and the faster you want to go, the more it will cost you. Baby steps are the key, You cant just walk out there and expect 11's, it just aint gonna happen. It takes practice learning the track, learning the car/truck, what rpm to launch, how to throttle it, do I drop the clutch or release slowly, tons of factors.

Its a starting point, also no suspension work at all.

i have the ford 8.8 with 3.73 gears (posi)

All in all. when it comes to drag on supras or any vehicle. You can have a 1000hp supra and a 400hp supra. and yet they both still run 12's. Its about getting it to stick to the ground and i spund thru 3rd

I have a write up on how and what you need. It bolted right up, just had to bang on the gas tank a little, new driveshaft made, and brake line adapter.

Most come with posi, Look for the 3L73. The L means Posi or locker

14 flat. Nice. Your first time at the track? Like in any car?

First time I ran my white 86 mustang it went 17.1 Somehow it had way less traction then the street. Blew the tires till the 1/8th marker. Talk about embarrasing.

+1 on it being not easy.

Well, I think you have a good platform. Just need to backhalf it if your gunna get serious. I was thinking ladder bars later down the road.

At my old work, the owner of A VW dealership had a brand new R32 sent off to get some big nasty turbo kit put on it. He spent over 10 grand on the setup. Looked nasty with big intercooler, turbo, internals, ect. Some of the VW loving guys were like "10s easy"....

Just be glad were dealing with nice and cheep toyotas... Good work man.

the rear end is out of a 2001 ford explorer. its a little wider about an inch or so.

No its not my first time ever racing at the track, just the first time with this truck. yeah this truck has less traction on the track as well. probably why it spun so bad when im used to the rough california roads.
