So I just ditched my stock carb and all the emissions and vacuum crap for a used Weber, but I need help understanding the linkage, the Toyota Meet is the 27th and I still have a ton of **** to do!

Heres the linkage section. One thing Im noticing is the stock linkage goes one direction and the carb goes the other.

    Random hardware.

Do you have the linkage adapter kit? it has a C-shaped arm that the stock Toyota linkage hooks up with. You'll need that to make it work without using the cable to work the lever.

Also what I've noticed is that you can't run that linkage arm with the heater hose in place on the intake, you'll have to put a pipe plug there. It runs right into it, ran into the same issue.

It's the C-shaped piece you need for your setup:

I don't have that specific one but I do have the origonal c shaped bracket off the stocker. Also, what is the little connector for up front in my second pic

The stock one won't work, it's too short. The stock carb's bigger.

The only things you need to hook up to the Weber are:

    - Fuel line
    - throttle linkage
    - vacuum hose for distributor advance
    - breather hose for valve cover
    - key power wire for the choke (I think that's what you're asking about?)

That should be it. Pretty simple carb.

    Hope that helps.

Awesome. Last question. I've noticed the throtle direction of the weber is oposite that of the stock linkage.

If your standing over the passenger fender the weber pulls and the stock pushes. Is there a way to switch this or am I boned?

I think you have to switch the stock arm from one side to the other. Stock the link pushes down and rotates the arm. If you switch the side the link pushes down on it'll rotate the other direction. I never set mine up that way (I had other issues with my (fake) Weber... so it never worked right for me, but I figured that was the only way to do it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but you're right they rotate in opposite directions. I hope that makes sense, not sure how to describe it.

Let me know if that works, I'm going to be setting mine up again on sunday.

Hopefully I can figure that out, all this carb business is very new to me lol.

If anyone has a picture to donate would be much appreciated.

I have a Weber 32/36 on my 81 Corolla. I used a stock carb linkage welded to the Weber one. It also pulls down so I made a small bracket to hold the cable. Hope the pic helps:

OMG I didn't even think about flipping the throttle bracket over like that... LOL. That's a great idea! the only thing that looks a little dicey to me is the angle the cable is at, seems like it would rub constantly and might fray. I'd try for a 45 degree angle so there's no drag if I was to do that... and after looking at that I might... I like simplicity and that's pretty simple!

That's what I did with mine to use the stock cable. Works fine but has really short travel at the pedal.
