So I tried putting in a electronic flasher in my truck but it didn't work:looney: Wanted to put one in so I can run more LED's and also run LED'S on my little trailer I pull. Cuz the new lights I put on my trailer won't work either. Any of you guys have this same problem?

An EL12 from napa or any parts store will work but only if installed correctly. The factory module is 3 wire but most electronic flashers are 2. If it won't work one way turn it and plug it in the other way that it'll fit.

On my truck it only goes in one way. It's a sob to get to. Mounted under the dash.

I got the European LED flasher from SuperBrightLEDs.com because the prongs on the Japanese one were swapped. Works just fine.

Ok so a while back I went and got a led flasher from AutoZone and it didn't work. I dunno why. Then I bought one that was a clear round one and that one wouldn't work either. What's going on here? Not enough current draw or what? I have LED'S on a trailer that I pull and they won't work either. :looney:

I don't know what you're doing wrong but I swapped led's into the 90 and dropped an EL12 into it with no issues. It's a 2 prong flasher but it will work.

I think I have your answer, I just did this myself and installed all LED lights everywhere.

I used a 3 prong relay from an advanced auto, I would have to check part number but they had a few 3 prongs that would work.

On the harness plug for my truck, under the dash, there was a black plastic "jumper" plug that went into the truck harness plug...The original OEM relay was plugged into that black plastic plug. I removed the black plastic "jumper", then when I put the relay directly into the truck plug the turn/flasher worked again.

The little black extender plug, if you look at it, swapped the third leg of the relay to the other side, effectively swapping the two side terminals.

If you install LED Lights everywhere, on the front marker lights in the bumper I had to remove the two pins from the plug and reverse them.. The LED Lights are directional so only light when the wires are hooked up in the right direction.

my truck is a 94 std if that matters.

I went and bought an EL 12 so I'll put it in when it dries out. It's been raining here.:waytogo:

I figured that one out a few days ago and felt dumb when I realized it. When I converted my 90 from incandescent bulbs I tried 1156 and 89 LED's and they wouldn't work in the bumper. I shrugged it off and left the 1156's. They I converted my 84 over a few days ago and they worked perfectly in the bumper so I got to looking at the 90 and sure enough they were wired backwards from the factory.

Most LED's are polarized so they will only work if the body is the ground. Some bulbs like 168/194 bayonet style bulbs will work either way since they can be installed in either direction.

Ok so I got the EL12 in and got to work on my trailer. All of my wiring is correct, I know cuz I went over it a couple of times. But I am still having a problem. My trailer has all LEDs the blinkers work fine but my tail lights only like two of the small LEDs in each light work. Then when the brake lights come on I only get one, the left. All of my grounds are good. I don't know what the prob is. Any clues?

Sounds like the lights are the issue not the flasher since the markers suck and a brake light isn't working.

Double check that the wiring to the right blinker is putting out voltage when it's supposed to. If it is you need a new pair of lights.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I need to get a volt meter, that would help.

Easy enough to just switch the left light to the right to see if the right side has power.
