Okay, I searched and didn't really come up with anything. My truck died the other day while I was driving it. After I got it towed home, I realized the EFI fuse had popped. The truck has 276K on it, so I thought a seized fuel pump could be the culprit. I dropped the tank and ran leads right to the pump and it spins fine. With the tank and everything out of the truck, the fuse still pops if you try and start it. Any ideas?

Oh, and I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in years, and he told me his truck has been at a shop for 6 months with the exact same problem. What gives?

if any sensor wire is shorted together or to ground it will pop the EFI fuse. Go get yourself a circuit breaker thats the same rating as your fuse for the EFI, then start unplugging sensors in your engine bay until the breaker stops tripping, then check the harness for that sensor and make sure the wires are rubbed through on each other. if the harness is clear try putting in a new sensor, if it still pops you missed the short and need to re-check that circuit again.

    good luck

I had the same problem a couple months ago. The guy before me, had cut the o2 sensor plug. The wires where touching causing the EFI to blow.
