What's the easiest way to get the cables off of the rear end?? Also I have some cable that goes from the frame to some round thing in the center of the rear axle. Any idea wtf this is?

Your ebrake cables are removed through the backing plates behind your brake drums. Pull the tires andn drums to remove the cables. The other "cable" that you seem to be referring to is a metal rod that goes from your proportioning valve on the frame down to a bracket on the axle. When you load weight in the bed and the rear sags, the rod changes the way the valve reacts and makes your rear brakes clamp tighter and quicker to compensate for the extra load. This is why lowered trucks can lock the rear brakes in a panic brake situation since the valve thinks you have a load in back.

This item below will allow you to remove the lame rod and be able to adjust the rear brakes to how you like them. It's a not as simple as turning a knob in the cab, but doesn't require all the fittings and custom brake lines required to get a adjustable knob in the cab.
