ok,,,I have checked the valvelash, ignition timing, replaced the cap&rotor and everything is goovy. It doesnt have a rod type knock, but at idle and low rpm this motor (and every other 22r i've seen) sound like a damn deisel at idle. I love my 22r but that noise makes me nuts.....anyone have any ideas? As I said I have checked everything that can be checked w/o going inside the engine. It's not loud but annoying as hell.
I believe you need to adjust the valves. Cause the valves hit the valve cover an make it sound tht way. Hopefully this is right lol
diesel exhaust leaks can some times sound like a knock in the head area. Could beat timing chain slapping. That happens at idle and when you rev it picks up the slack on the chain. Just some ideas.
