Dealing with a little rust on the rain tray (cowl?)

    There is a little rust under the front windshield in the rain tray area. It's not something I can patch easily from above, and taking out the dash to do this is not something I'd want to do anytime soon.

    I've seen a company that sells a cowl delete, but there isn't anything available for the trucks built before '79.

    What's the next best option?

    Where abouts along the windshield? If it's closer to the corners you could remove the windshield wiper motor (or blank on the other side) and get your arm in that way.
