Well my 88 fell victim to a elderly old lady who did not yield and I was too close to her to stop. While fixable I know the ins will probably want to total. Hopefullly since I have Hagerty's classic ins on it they will fight for me for Allstate to cough up and fix it ?? Be safe out there guys.... Hard to even be mad as she looked like Betty White and kept apologizing. People make mistakes but I hate it for my cool ole yota. At least other than sore both drivers was not hurt
All the inner fenders on these trucks are spot weld, which is time consuming to remove & reweld. Good luck with your insurance company. If they total it,buy it back & get another complete front clip.frame forward, even from another year or Forerunner.
Thanks for the replies Guys. Looking at my truck what do you guys think I could have sold it for before the accident ? The interior looked as good as exterior and had basically a SR5 pkg in it with full tach, tilt wheel, clock, bucket seats with 4runner console. Engine bay was super clean no oil leaks. It was like a almost new 88 yota and 22R ran like a top, I also have all my receipts from when I reaquired it in 2011 and restored it. Looking online for older ones to see what they sell for now
Out here in Cali. any early 2wd is very hard to find! When I totaled my 86 & found my 88 replacement @ the body shop ( it was being stored ), blue book was $6,700. Now this was back in 96! I got it for $4,800
ouch, i hope your ok....yea messing with insurance companies are not bueno when it comes to older vehicles.
Anyone between Houston, Shreveport and Mobile got a 84-88 reg cab or 4runner salvage vehicle with a intact front end they wanna part with so I can re build my 88 ? Thanks, 22R88
