We recently had some heavy rains that caused flash flooding here on Guam.I was caught a few times where a low rider had no business being.Anyways my truck was ok I just noticed my idol was high sometimes and whenever it was if I turned on the A/C switch it would rev up and down like wrrrum-wrrum-wrrum-wrrum.(lol you like that)Sometimes like in the morning on start up the idol is a little high and it will last the 45min trip to work but after work it would be normal.I did a jump on my diagnostic port today from the te1-port to the E1 and all I got was a constant 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1- with no breaks?Any help with this.Note I did the test with my idol about normal.Thanks guys.
Check the IACV under the throttle body. It may be clogged or you have an air bubble in the cooling system. I had one that had a piece of RTV that blocked one of the small incoming coolant lines... The high idle is the IACV bypassing air behind the thorttle plate (choke function for cold starts). When the valve doesn't get up to temp (clogged or dirty) it'll still let air bypass causing the high idle. The up and down idle is the ECU killing the injectors thinking that your coasting to a stop. When the idle is high try stepping on the brake and that "wrrrum-wrrum-wrrum-wrrum" will happen again... Lol! No code for it as its a mechanical valve... Hope this helps!
^^ Agreed. Thats what was causing mine. I took it off, traced it on a piece of sheet metal and made a block plate. My truck is a wknd and show driver..so I could care less if it revved high until it warms up...also deleted the coolant hose lines going to it... Take the intake tube off the TB, and put a piece of duct tape over the big hole in the bottom of the TB..(you'll see it) put the tube on, fire it up...bet it fixes it...If thats the case, replace it or delete it...
