Does not matter if its from a 4runner or not... you need one from a 92 - 95 as they went to a electronic speedometer after 91 before that they have a speedo cable best bet is one from a 2wd if you get one from a 4wd truck or 4runner the speedo will be off a little... if your running oversize tires it wont be much... about 5 mph smaller tires will be worse my 93 with a 4wd cluster and 245/45/17 tires is about 8 mph off at 70mph my speedo reads 78 with a little work you can even swap the odometer out of your current speedo into the new one so your mileage will remain the same
Doesn't the oil sending unit have to be replaced. That's my understanding. My question would be, out of which truck do you take it out of?
yes the oil sender has to be swapped... if you just disconnect it from the sending unit on the block you can run the new cluster without it until you get a replacement any truck with a tach has the right sender... don't install the new tach with the old sender... you'll cook the new clusters pressure gauge
It took me forever to find the one ive got, but I did look on Ebay & found several. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993...021QQitemZ310033549139QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SPEE...001QQitemZ110235410411QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-9...009QQitemZ190208269049QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
those work with my 93 2wd 22re? the first one wont work. its from a v6 not the 4 cylinder. the second will i think... and i dont know about the third the auction doesnt specify if its from a 4 or 6 cylinder also will the oil pressure/voltage gauges be working??
Just email the seller of the 3rd one & see what it came out of & as for the volt meter/oil pressure gauge then they will work. The volt meter gauge will work as soon as you plug in the harness in the rear & the oil pressure gauge youll need the oil sending unit out of a truck that has the factory tach in it. All this is listed above in a previous statement...
