Been debating on running clear tails, only because IMO it would be a period correct mod for my mini. I’m somewhat concerned about the fit an quality though, and I don’t see any on Amazon.ca.

Only thing I can say is to be sure your assemblies are DOT approved. The Nazis here will write a ticket for anything non-stock, but at least with the proper okey-dokey (DOT okey-dokey) the fix it can be written off and fines can be avoided.

in some states a rear facing and rear side facing red reflector are legally required.

Most of the time a red reflector out back is good enough for legal purposes. Just make sure you swap bulbs to red LEDs.

Thx guys, I’m still on the fence about it, but the cops around here (Canada) are pretty good-especially for older guys like me. Washing the truck today and it seems one of my front bumper lenses is cracked too, so I may go all-around with clears, lol.

If I use led bulbs, won’t they flash faster? I can’t stand that

'hyper flash'? only if you do things wrong. The truck's hyperflash reaction is based on resistance in the circuit. LEDs have a whole lot less resistance than incandescent bulbs, which makes your truck think you have a burnt out bulb. To fix this, there are resistors that you can install to make lights flash at a normal rate.

Either use resistors for the bulbs or swap the flasher relay for one thats LED friendly. I dont remember how the flasher is on the newer trucks, if you can swap it then do that.

I have a set of LED turn signals in my Jetta that have a built in resistor to eliminate hyper flash.. can't remember the brand ATM but it's worth it

My wife got me a set for out 17th anniversary, installed them today and they look siiiiick! These are from eBay though, come complete with housings/coloured bulbs and cheaper than the Klears but not as good quality, lol, one broke during install, but I’m happy regardless, this isn’t a show truck.

Clear tails are still one of my favorite changes to a mini
