should be easy man. I think one or two cans of carb/tb/intake cleaner will do you good. even if you want, go ahead and get the cheap stuff in a bigass can. more stuff for price right? same ****, have fun.

The intake plenum should be pretty clean. You should only have a little gunk build up on butterfly. If it real dirty you need better filter

Nope i gotta good filter. Its not super funky but the gunkiest mani i've seen so far. I think it may have something to do with the pcv releasing into the upper intake mani.
Also i saw they have this can of engine degreaser will that work ok for the inside of the manifold?

Its not really dirty because of the filter, its usually just the vapor of the oil from the vacuum hose that leads from the head to the intake, thats why its all greasy

You should do a intake swap. Swap it out to the straighter style one.

If you want it REALLY clean, take it to a auto machine shop.

They have a parts cleaner that will make it look mint. And its cheap, and easy, and because cleaning by hand sucks.

easy-off oven cleaner cleans the crud and nastiness out of old carb bowls great, should work great on manifold carbon. make sure you have lots of ventilation, wear gloves, and don't let it sit on the AL too long or it'll start to oxidize and turn dark.

it's the EGR that makes it dirty most of the time. I haven't looked in my intake manifold in a long time. I haven't had EGR connected in forever.

PCV can contribute a bunch too depending on the condition of the engine. I'm curious about my cressida too... ditched EGR at the rebuild and put in a catch can.
