Hi to all.. just picked up a 1976 pickup sr5.. 1st thing I noticed was the poor light from the factory sealed beams.. found this outfit who makes oem knockoff headlanps with high output led bulbs for low & high beams.. https://www.headlightexperts.com/carfinder?find=1976-toyota-pickup-22515&sid=uanjzXDeBg I'll follow up with unboxing, install, and pre & post install pics.. Cheers
You can find the 5.75" housing and LED bulbs on amazon for less than that. I've had good luck with the Sealight brand LED bulbs
Thanks for the guidance.. headlights just arrived.. now the question is do I need to completely remove the front grill?? If so what is the proper procedure ( grill is in nice shape & don't want to nick it up) Thanks in advance
There is a way to pull them with the grill on. But its way easier to pull the grill then work the lights
The chrome trim rings that hold the bulbs in place can be removed with a thin shanked Phillips screwdriver. I’ve changed my bulbs without removing the grills. A magnetic tip helps to keep the screws from dropping behind the grill. Because then you’ll have to remove them to get to the dropped screws.
