sup guys, new to this site and new to toyota trucks, but not new to the mini scene. ive been around for a few years, i had my first truck bagged when i was 16 years old, it was a 95 sonoma. long story short i took it somewhere to get bodydropped and it ended up getting really messed up. since then ive worked here and there on a first gen s10 ive built from the ground up so far- but its still just a rusty first gen at the end of the day, and no where near being roadable. NOW comes the part about how i got into a toyota- basically ive always liked their lines and if i had the opportunity to get into one i wanted to. Well, luckily i came across an awesome deal on it and had to buy it. Its a 93 hilux with 120k on it, fully bagged, bodydropped, shaved, rag top, skinned, sheetmetal bed, LED tails etc. Its not show worthy by any means yet, but its got a lotta potential - i cant wait to get into it and first and foremost figure out its engine issues- then get it to lay out and rework the bodywork and repaint. without further adieu... and yes.. i know its pink, beggers cant be choosers
haha i kinda like the pink. looks like a good start. what's keeping it from laying up front? it looks like the frame is showing up front, like its an uneven BD? Anyways, good luck
driveway isnt level, but it does almost look like an uneven BD. maybe its just not Z'd. i dig the 2wd bumper on the 4wd fenders. lol. good start for sure though. and, i personally would rock a hot pink truck all year long. paint looks good, leave it.
thanks for the welcome - to answer the questions. the bd lays pinch as its a 2.25" drop all around - its held up in the front (which i told you i had to work on already, so thanks for being observant i guess) for a few reasons.... it could be just one of these, it could be all of these, i wont know for sure until i start workin away at this truck that someone else has worked on 1. uneven driveway 2/ stock trans xmember- need to make tubular 3. engine cradle member- apparently they make a tubular one for $150- ill have to look into this 4. clutch master- its shimmed up a bit but i can tell if i try and push another 1/4 -1/2" out of it that the tire will be hitting it- ima relocate it to the inside 5. bag cup height- i dont think this is it but possibly 6. as you can see from the picture- that isnt the frame but rather the pinch molding under the door- the pinch is around 1/4" from laying out- which appears to be due to the tranny xmember but possibly more lastly, the bd is even as far as i can tell- i ddint take calipers or anything to it, but with the tape it looks legit - the bed has been laid out enough that the pinch has folded in somewhat whereas the cab is virgin so obviously you are gonna see a slight variation. again- i bought this truck YESTERDAY evening. Give it some time gentlemen.
Ignore the haters My daughter will take it the way it sits. She wants a pink & white mini truck really bad.
i wasnt hating. like you say how the bed has gotten a little curved from laying and the front hasnt. good luck figuring out how to get it lower. show us some pictures when you do.
