Any one ever deleted they're carbon canister? Mine doesn't really seem to be doing anything but taking up space.

Yes, I haven't run mine in a year or so. Just have to plug the right lines and leave the other line open.

The canister collects vapors from the fuel tank and then burns them when the engine is running. So the vac lines have to be plugged and you will need to reroute the vent line into the fender.

You have to know that you will smell fuel on occasion though.

How long are the canisters good for? Is it still burning gas smell after 30 years?

I gots no truck, for now
ya i would bet its still working. The problems with leaving your gas tank open to vent is that on hot days your gas evaporates to atmotphere, so you can really lose a lot of gas that way. I sealed all my canister stuff up and just never fill my tank all the way during the summer.

Interesting. Don't think I'll be changing anything quite yet (Too many "if it ain't broke, let's fix it anyway..." lately, lol) but I'll remember that.
