I know, I know. There is crap load of threads regarding this. But not one answers the question i have. The lower mounting tabs on the camaro shocks are about a 1/4" off on both sides. I have read guys just using washers to mount them. That don't seem safe at all to me, so question is this. Can you take out the mounting tabs from original shock and slide into the new camaro shock? That way the bolt holes line up perfectly and its safe.

Use 3/8" machine washers and bolt them in. No need to think too hard about a non issue. Besides getting the cross bars out of the shocks will seriously suck even with a press.

to answer your question, yes. you can use your toyota type tab and replace the chevy ones.

I always run a longer bolt to hold my shocks in, then use a nut and washer on top of the arm threads. And big washers down below too. I've had cheapies spread the split finger bolt "hole" and shove the shock out the bottom. No problems since the new hardware method.
