Today, i had a hard time starting my truck, so i pushed the gas pedal when it was trying to turn over, and some white smoke started coming out the exhaust.....ran if for a little while and checked the oil dipstick and noticed tiny bubbles at the tip of the stick......any ideas?

Sounds like water/antifreeze in the engine. Not good! How did it act while it was running? did it idle and rev ok? Did it spew out continuos white smoke, putting out more with the engine revs or just the puff of smoke on startup?

just a puff of smoke at startup.....i havent noticed anything other than oil on the oil cap....
the idle and rev is fine, but i do notice a little hesitation at higher rpms

I wonder if the lucas stop leak i put in with the oil change has anything to do with it?

That very well could be it. I haven't used that stuff before. If it was just the one time it could be just a puff of smoke from the engine temporarily running rich on startup, condensation ect. If it were me, I would do an oil change and look at the oil closely to make sure there isn't more water in there. then monitor it for a while to make sure it isn't smoking more. could have been a one time thing.
Mine needs a carb rebuild and I notice that it will puff out some smoke if I get too overzealous with pumping the gas while starting it.

Drain out your oil pan and if you see a bunch of water in there dont even bother putting new oil in it. I think you probably have a blown head gasket. The water and oil mixing will only get worse. Usually overheating causes this. Did you recently have cooling issues? If so you gotta fix that first and then pull the head and have it shaved and put back with a new gasket.
