Alright if you have been following my build you know I am bagging and body dropping my 93. With the body drop and the 18s the stock booster hit the tire laid out so to fix it, I re drilled the mounting holes and moved the booster over 3/4". Then it hit the steering shaft! So I took it out and used a hammer to roll one edge in slightly. Not like beat it in just indented it. So fast fwd to today and the test drive finally happens! But when I go to get in it and go, it won't budge. Brake pedal hard! Turn truck off, step on pedal a few times and it releases. Take off down road, come to stop sign, let off brake pedal and it keeps stopping by itself! And won't budge! Gotta turn truck off press pedal a few times to release it then go again. Wtf.
How hard did ya hit lol The power booster is a precision machine the rubber seal around the inside perimeter ..and a inner seal for the master cylinder push rod and a few vacuum chamber baffles . U said the pedal hard to push and sticking that's a sign of booster failure .. How's the condition of your rear brake cylinders and pads if there worn out bad they can over extended and not release . Is there a idle rpm change when stepping on the pedal
... i dont think it sounds like a vacuum leak, or an idle up issue.... sounds like, gonna need more monieeeez! lol
No change in engine rpm when I press pedal. It bled out fine, all new brake pads rotors, shoes, everything. I did read about the pedal linkage needing adjusted, I moved the pedal assembly over 3/4" too, do it can't be too bad. How easy does a geo metro booster bolt up , as I hear that's usually the course of action when the booster hits tires.
Yea u could have just a binding issue on the rod .hopfully that's it and won't be to big of a problem
