Soooo I find it every annoying that they didn't make the bed flush with the bottom of the cab, why is it four inches higher then then the bottom of the cab:confused: does anyone else find this annoying or is it just me???? How are you guys solving this problem????? By bending some sheet metal and welding??? Or by splitting it at the middle at the bottom and welding a plate there?? I need some help please!!!

With the RN2# series, the bed and cab line up definitely is quite significant. Not too sure what Toyota was thinking with this design.

originally i made a little filler strip. it has to be cut down there to keep all the bodylines proper.

then i built my new bed and got rid of the lip and made the rockers match.

Could also make an extension that overlaps and glues on with panel adhesive. Good idea for trucks not getting repainted or people without welders. It's on my to do list this winter.

I'm just going to weld an extension like burnzya, it seems the best way to do it, I just have to decide on what I should do with the back

I've seriously pondered this issue myself for quite a while. I would say find a way of separating the lower panels (The ones you're going to fix), bend some new metal and tack it in.

Probably not the hardest thing in the world. then maybe add a few tack-welded fingers to the inside to reinforce it.
