The paint on my tailgate has seen better days plus its dented. I've been quoted $300 to repair and repaint it. They would be only painting the outside and the top rail. The other side has been painted with Herculiner. Is that a reasonable price to pay?

It's pretty reasonable if you don't know anyone....

The only thing to watch for if you are only painting one panel is how closely they can color match. All paint fades with time, so if they don't account for it, it could look a little off.

lets just say this i recently painted my daily driver (the civic) for 400 that included filler paint new hood and other small supplies ...... i painted the entire car for 400 so if you could find a place to do it your self i suggest DIY its a ton cheaper

The body shop saw my truck and said they can match it as close as possible. I'm not really worried because its in the back and not on the side. But yeah I don't know how to paint let a lone have a place to do it. Got a quote from Earl Sheib for $225 but kinda of sketchy of their work. You get what you pay for I guess.

Cheap work is never good and good work is never cheap. Don't go off price alone, be sure to check out their work. 2 stage paint is definitely the way to go. You got a nice truck there man!
