Well finally got a day off & decide to do a battery/intake swap on my 94 yota. I didn't like the idea of having my intake running across the radiator hose. So I went & bought power cable, ground, terminals, & wire loom. I changed starter, alternator & fuse block power cables all to 4ga. Also got a good ground right to the engine block using 4ga as well. I know its probably bigger than I needed to get but I eventually want to upgrade my alternator. I took my time & used quality connectors & made sure all the ends had heat shrink tubing. Also ran the wire in wire loom to makes things look a little neater. I then rerouted the MAF sensor wire & installed the new filter. Started her up & went for a test drive...WOW what a difference! I know this is nothing new to all you veterans & don't wanna bore you, but I'm very happy with the results especially since i did the work myself! My next project will be to replace all of the vacuum lines & upgrade spark plugs & wires. & maybe install a new radiator!
Yeah...its kinda funny at first because Im used to seeing the intake go all the way across...but you're right much cleaner look!
Looks good! Its kewl you thought to share with everyone, and Im sure you love it and feel the difference to. Get yourself a intake box for the filter and youll be grinN' - you can purchase them as a kit or fashion them quite easily, Im sure the thought has already been in your head thou'. . . " thumbs up "!
well...i want to change all of the vacuum lines & maybe install a new radiator. Also want to get a whole new exhaust system to help my engine breath a lil better! Oh I also have some buckets I want to put in.
try the new ngk sparkplugs i think there about 9 dollars each and some ngk wires i have them and from the cheap to ngk sounds better, you can get them at advanceauto parts i think i payed 35 to 40 dollars for wires. orielly, autozone doesn't carry ngk wire. oh and online found them for 45 dollars plus ship. just given u heads up.
Lookin good man! dont think ur mods will "bore" us, hell ive been doing simple stuff before and alot of times its becuase of lookin at how other people do thiers. So keep up the good work!
Cool sounds good man. You should look at getting a aluminum rad and conmverting over to electric fan too. Might free up a tad bit of power. Visit www.flex-a-lite.com. then make kits for our trucks! It says its for the 4x4, but i imagine its the same fit.
Advance Auto Parts carry NGK spark plugs cause thats what Im running in my 91 now. Oh your intake looks good....reminds me of what I have lol.
I think the 4x4 rad is different.. but for all the guys running their original rads. DITCH THEM THEY SUCK!!!!!! a simple aftermarket aluminum replacement from advance cools sooo much better !!!!
np mate, whats next on the to do list?? im learnin on how to mod my 22rte.. so seeing what u do is helping
