Hi, I just got a rust-free '81 Hilux with a 22R (partially disassembled). I'll be getting a 20R head right away and do my porting/polishing/matching magic on the head & intake manifold. I'm also looking at a W50 trany in case the L48 is hurt (truck is not running). The plan is to start with a 32/36 Weber with the stock cam/short block and see how it runs. My well-gone '75 Celica ran a 14.1 sec 1/4 on street tires back in the days (22r/20r hybrid, dual 45mm Webers, .527 Schneider cam, and tons of hours porting and balancing). Not sure I have the time, money, or energy to do all this allover again. As for looks, will keep the faded red paint and add some baby-moon/trim rims. Will add pics of the progress. This is a great Forum with tons of interesting posts. Feel free to ask any questions, 20/22Rs are and always be my favorite engines.

Welcome! Seems like you are all dialed in when it comes to engine mods. The 20R/22R motors are my favorite too.
