Anyone done any auto cross with their yota? I'm going to try to set mine up for it. I know it will never be the fastest but it will be fun and unusual. So I have about a month to set up my truck for the upcoming event and a very tight budget. So far I'm getting some sumitomo htrz II summer tires since I have to buy new ones now anyways. Then I'm thinking about cranking the torsions down 2 inches and putting 3" blocks in the rear and seeing how it rides to decide if it's worth it to but spindles and lowering leafs. Then I might try to find some cheap buckets to put in it and just go play. My main worry is concerning the blocks can they stand autocross?

I put blocks on my yota truck and I have been driving it really rough. They seem to holding in and all I really need to do is drop the front.

The blocks should be fine, except that they may facilitate hitting the bump stops much earlier. The same goes for the front. That's where the drop spindles shine. On a budget, one of the best things you can do for handling is to get a set of urethane bushings for the whole front end. It's quite a bit of work to change the A-arm bushings, but it makes a huge difference in how tight the front is. The most important bushings to change if you don't have the time for all of them is the sway bar bushings and the bushings on the bar going from the lower A-arm to the frame forward (sorry, not sure what it's called.)

The drop springs and upgraded torsion bars will also help with body roll and nose dive since they will be slightly stiffer.

I decided against the cheap lowering. I will probally end up going out there with just my new tires and hopefully some buckets from an 84 toyota supra.
