I was wondering if this DIY shift kit would work on our automatics? If so would it be worth doing? Or any thoughts on it. Thanks in advance. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...ers-take-a-nap) __________________
your link didn't work. and our transmissions are hydraulic controlled, as far as i know, no such controllers are available for the A43D
sorry about that here it is How to make a a340 last(56kers take a nap)) I know swapping in a 5 speed would be better but I like the automatic. I just want to make it the truck a little faster with bolt ons and want to make sure the trans can handle.
It depends on which a340 you have. If you have an a340H then you can turn up the pressure in the valve body, adjust the TV cable etc. If you have an a340f it's hydraulic and you gotta reprogram the valve body which I have never done on that trans personally. I have cranked up the pressure, slugged the accumulators, readjusted the TV cable and gone to a manual controller for paddle shifting on my 80 with a aw4/a340h hybrid and it works freaking awesome. Thanks for the link, I had that one saved but had to wipe my HD awhile back so I lost it.
