I have just replaced the door seals but I still have a air leak. I noticed that the DS door hangs a little lower than the Pass side. Do the hinges adjust or is there bushings that wear or something ? Any tips appreciated. Thanks, 22R88
These trucks have very small window frames, can get tweaked out easily. I read some where use a paper bill to adjust. Place between the the seal & door & close it ,keep moving & pulling on it untill all areas don't release the bill!! The hinges do have a small amount of movement, you can pull the doors & open the hinge hole up for more adjustment! Before removing drill two small holes @ ea. hinge (that a piece of welding rod can be inserted into )so can index to starting place!
Appreciate the help. To adjust the doors does the fender have to be removed or can you access the bolts from the door just being open ? Thanks, 22R88
I just took my doors off before I hopped on the forum, You can remove the doors with fenders on, its tougher with 1 person than with 2 though. Also when your putting them back on it will be a bit difficult to get it to sit perfectly flush with the fender line.
To remove the fenders, does the hood cowl where the wiper arms reside have to come off ? Are there any bolts on the fender under the cowl ? Thanks, 22R88
Yes, there's one each side up close to the the windshield. Also don't forget the ones @ the bottom rear near the front of the door! And the fenders have a seam sealer under the bolt lip.so go slowly getting lose.
