Not sure were to post this question. I have a 2005 tacoma 4 wheel drive with a 6 cyl. I had a animal (chipmunk?) make a nest in the heater fan an in the vent system. There was dry leave pieces around the blower resistor an the leaves caught fire. Was able to put it out. I can't see a hole were it would have gotten in. The vent under the hood by the windshield doesn't have any holes. Were would you look. Also the windows have been keep closed. Thank you!
ALVIN!!!!!!!! lol The heater pulls air from the vent below the windshield.( I think)There is a black plastic mud guard on the inside of your front wheel well and the critters can get up in there and make there way inside the fender to where the vent under the windshield drains out the side which is behind the fender on the firewall.I took some pics just waiting for it to upload from my phone.
Here ya goI also found an opening on the inside where the headlight is there is a gap the leads behind the fender.
I have only ever found dead animals that I have hit to be a problem. I am yet to see a chipmunk or squirrel up close...
