I bought an 86 toyota, can you guys tell me what i need to start dragging and still use my toy as a daily, thanks! -albert.
Well a good point to start at is wheels and tires. From your avatar, I would say those are sticking out a bit front and rear. You could keep them if they are part of a look you want. And swap to the 4wd bed and fenders. They have a more aggressive/smoothed look to them on a lowered setup. But body clearances asside, most have found that 2" spindles in the front, moving the balljoints from under the lower control arms, to above them, and cranking the torsions down works well. Bumpstops have to be removed or swapped for smaller ones like someone here has. In the back, removing the middle leaf, and using a 4" block looks good. Most suggest using a c notch. It bottoms out though. Both have pros and cons. The other option is using BellTech 3" drop leafs and a smaller block like a 1-2". As to which would have which type of spring rate and ride, I can't personally comment on since I haven't used those leafs before. That should get you started.
Really low on a 1 piece driveline, you might have to hammer or trim the back of the trans tunnel on the cab and/or the crossmember under the bed just behind the cab. Its common. Look around at peoples wheel/drop combo and find one you like. Then just do whatever drop he did onto yours. They're pretty simple trucks.
i guess high heels, a wig, a dress and some duct tape...why you would come on a toyota forum and ask that idk.... jk welcome to the site
lol let's not scare the guy away Anyway Welcome to Toyota Minis! The trucks are very simple and straightforward. everything works easily and dropping should be fun, and.... not so complicated lol
