I am also interested in this as my aftermarket r12 compressor died. I might have found a solution. I was at the not-so-local junk yard last week when I was looking for a stock setup for my 91 pickup.

I really want to convert to 134a so I was hoping to find an 89-95 setup with lines for that. I struck out at 3 yards when finally I just happened to look at a 99 Tacoma. It had all the lines and was a complete setup. It was open to air but I would have flushed it and replaced the dryer and expansion valve. I was able to get a deal on 4x4 calipers for a future project thrown in for a grand total of $260.

This place was not a pick and pull so they wanted to remove the parts. When I got back the apes that took the parts out had used pliers to loosen all the lines and ruined pretty much everything. I basically left with only the calipers in tow.

Next weekend I'm going to hit up another set of yards to try my luck again. I'm thinking the early model Tacomas had 134a systems and extremely similar setups to what we need. I was going to get everything including the evap unit, all lines, condenser, and compressor.

I'll post if it works out.

Yeah they only specialize in domestic vehicles up to the early 80s. I'm probably going to put one of their systems in 67 C/10. :waytogo:

I researched this also. It should all be plug and play once you get the hard parts in. I bought a 94 truck with AC I was planning to get swapped this summer but didn't....my biggest worry is the rusted threads on the block where the AC Bracket mounts. Definitely need to run a tap through them to clean the threads up.

I just bought an 86 with factory a/c and don't really want it. I don't know if it works, have a receipt from PO that says compressor was leaking, but if someone wants the hole system I'd let it go for pretty cheap!

I need the dryer and condenser coil, if you'll separate.
If you won't separate, how much for everything but the compressor?
.....and.....Will you take the time to package it up all nice (so the fins on the coil don't get damaged) and ship it?
