I want to raise my truck back up to stock height. This is my first Toyota truck so I need some help. I have read much about lowering and know reversing the process to raise it back up. I need help in the front end. Is there any way to tell if drop spindles were used? I have truned the torision bolts a few rounds without much success. Any help would be great. I now how to remove the blocks on the back so that's not a problem. Thanks Oops it's a 2wd.

The drop spindles may have a company stamping on them somewhere. Do they look newer than the rest of the suspension?

Spindles don't look newer than the rest of the suspension nor does it look like the dust shields were cut to allow room for the tie rod end. Also, checked to see if it had a BJF and they weren't flipped. Would the torsion bars allow a 3 inch drop? Maybe I need compare some shocks to see if they look the same height too.

Yes they will allow that kind of drop. Sounds like you just need to raise 'em up more.

Thanks UC 93. To raise I need to tighten or loosen? Looks like there is about 4 inches of the bolt above the nut and locking nut. Just want to make sure I go the right way.

On my toyota the spindles were in 2 different pieces and the drop spindle is one solid piece.

Not much of a smooth ride. But by raising it an inch and a half so far it rides much better.

I believe you tighten them. Been awhile since i had torsion bars...lol. Just look at the way they are bolted to the the LCA. Pretty sure on the tighten. And yea it def rides like garbage untill you remove the bumps and put drop shocks on... Bags are better :nana:

Yes, tightening them is raising it back up. Looks like I will need new shocks too. I want to get back to factory height.

At my age I don't need or want a low rider. I need it to be a truck that I can use.

Torsion bars were tighten to raise the front. I removerd the homemade blocks in the rear and threw them away. I left the aluminum blocks in place for now. I cut the U-bolts off (one was badly bent) with a cutting wheel. It doesn't sit at stock height but it looks good at the current height so I will be leaving it there for now. The ride in much improved too.
