    what i got:

    all stock so far..
    western rims
    bj flip up frnt....
    motor: stock lazer.
spare motor is a pre lazer single row 22r.
what id like to do is mod all of the stock components..
port n polish, some grinding n shaving to the cam n flywheel.
    first pothole:
how much material can i grind off in the ports??
im looking to get maximum airflow so i needa find the redline that shouldnt be crossed....
i noticed that the exhaust ports have a small hump on the bottom... can i grind it down???

Use the 22R and put a 20R head on it for better flow.

Also go read through Raf's thread, he built up his hybird like that and put stage 5 over sized valves in it.

Ive revved mine to 7 thousand RPM, once.

Stock rods, rod bolts, crank, pistons, OG toyota bearing. :D

Its stoopid and reckless to spin one that high, so I only rev mine to 6 thousand rpm shifts. I havnt dynoed it, but 6K feels good.

    But if I was you...

Build that early block all fresh with domed pistons. Aftermarkets are lighter, but cost monies! Factory 81-83s are good enough on a budget.

Run a 20R head. No way a 22R head can match 20R flow, (unless gutted out by a pro).

Mild cam, like a 280S Comp or a 310 (ask BYE on the brand, IDK)

I took alot of cyl head pix when I ported/reported the head. There is plenty of material to work with and shouldnt scare any one. So here they are, hope they give you ideas....

Big valves are big headaches...I probbaly went too far (not enough cam/rpms to be optimal). Stock pistons in my rig now...

Intakes matched to a felpro gasket...(put one on your stock 20R, overlap!!)

the intake was matched to a 22R carb. Its hogged out too, and now its way unmatched to the holly 500.

Intake port after I got it from the machine shop.

    After more porting

and a vid of the day I first got it running,
YouTube - 22R hybrids first run w/ headwork.
( untuned with a long ass geard w58.)

then once i cant do anything more to it, ill add things like bigger valves, cam, flywheel, clutch, pistons, ect.. bt thats a looong time from now!

    pics will be up soon...

n thanks for the advice raf!
im just waiting on some dremel bits so i can finish up porting!

What is the plan with the suspension then?

suspension wise im thinking of using supra or cressida suspension n drivetrain.. going irs might take too much work so maybe a 4-link setup. gots a suspension setup im thinking of rocking bt im still in the blueprint stages of it..
