I would like to link the rear and coilover all four corners without chopin up the bed. Swap to the 84+ front end with drop spindles Than paint it haha.

it's fun for now just lowering it for almost free, I just cant wait to get the RE in. also i'll be throwing a lunchbox locker in the rear when my brother SAS his IFS 1st gen 4runner so that should make it a bit funner :D

Appreciate the welcome! Really lookin forward to getting the motor in this week, its too cold to keep riding the motorcycle to work in 38 deg. When i dropped the pan on the RE i found parts of those pesky timing chain guides in the bottom of it. Sure enough the chains already started groovin the timing cover too, so I plan on replacing the guides and cover asap.

RE is in as of yesterday afternoon thx to my brothers help in just an hour or two. Still need to run the cab wiring, Tank and getting the timing chain taken care of. Just happy its all in, not supposed to work on cars at my apartment complex but i've got a garage :D

The torsion bar key made me jump for sure, luckily i was pulling into my buddys apartment complex so i hopped out real quick to see what it was and just pulled the whole bar out and threw it in the truck bed till i got home.

I came up a drive way straight on that i should have come across at an angle but there was another car coming out of it that i waved on a few times but wouldnt budge, so i took it straight on.

appreciate the comments! The toyota is gonna sit till my hysteer sells on CL or something else i post so i can order up a new timing set and timing cover, so the vw is getting some attention, blasphemy!but its still a mini truck :p

Got my Engine builder timing guide kit (Steel backed ones) and new timing cover two weeks ago, got it all in last friday! Found out the 4 in 1 (not tri-y) header that came with the motor doesnt work, it was ment for a SA truck so no bend in it for torsion bars.... Got a stock 95 re mani w/collector for $50 last night tho to remedy that! Now i need to drop the front crossmember to get the oil pan on, run the fuel system stuff and route my harness and see if it all pays off! I got the parts cause im selling the vw truck to a buddy and he bought my parts to get started on paying for the truck, its worth having my toyota up and going and one less thing to insure!

No more pix at the moment, but ill get some loaded later!

All I have left is to gas up the tank, fill it with oil and coolant and give it a shot with the harness currently laying across hood. I decided to lay it all out across the hood so i could trouble shoot the harness if need be instead of crawling around int the cab or something funny. Glad I did already, Damn PO crimped 2 of the 3 wires together on the clutch cancel switch (My RE is out of a 4wd model) and it was giving me a reading of 0.61V at the Starter signal wire just by turning the key to "ON" than it would drop to 0.00V trying to crank it.

If anyone one knows how to adapt a 22re Throttle cable to 22r throttle pedal LMK, right now im leaning towards modifying a universal bicycle cable till i score a 22re pedal cluster

Yea id like to see the golf to one of my favorite body styles and I'd just mod the bike cable till u can find a 22r pedal set or Jerry up the 22re cable somehow

Some pix of the bunny before it went away, KilometerMagazine.com - AZkid's rabbit

Pretty much done with my project, Today I just need to bleed the brakes, top off the coolant and figure out how to put an ignition in it (22r=6 wires, 22re=7 wires, and the 7 wire ignition is to big to just bolt into the 6 wire ignition housing) and put my efi tank under the bed

The "final touches" are turning into a real chore. Ignition turned into a all day event but basically I modded my original column to accept the newer ignition assembly. Also turns out my radiator has a leak, but luckily my brother has another from his 4runner. My brake master cyclinder also gave out, have another from the 4runner so gonna see if it works and will bolt on. Tank is still sitting in the bed because all the other challenges.

Do you have any pics of the leaf spring setup? I don't want to change block sizes, but I'm not low enough!

Ill get a pic of it today, but if youre not a visual person its the middle leaf pulled completely and the overload leaf flipped upside down and placed on top of the main leaf. My overload leaf looked almost flat but flipping it up side down made a condsiderable difference when i clamped both of them together, it really flattened out the main leaf. I just looked up your intro thread, Very clean truck man! For your lip did you just get like an s10 lip and trim it down like a duckbill on vws?
