Hey guys.... finnally found some time to tinker on my truck .. I double checked vaccum lines intake bolts and everything... but my truck won't idle... at all doesn't even try..... the engine runs fine. Really fine actually but no idle.. any help?

 

did you try turning up the idle adjustment screw on the carb? someone might have messed with it before and turned it waaay down..

 

Yep tried that that was my first thought lol

 

major vacume leak?

 

on the top far pass side of the carb, there is a AA battery looking thing with a wire on it.

that is the idle cut solenoid. its meant to kill the motor in a accident.


but it needs a constant 12v and should click when you apply power.



sounds like thats your problem or the idle jet is clogged.

 

Alright got it idleing... a little high for now but ull tweak it later.... all it took was a lot of tweaking and carb cleaner and she idles now thanks guys
