Hey everyone, my name is John and I just joined this site today. I came across a 78 crewcab dually that someone is selling. The owner is asking $3,000 for the truck. He says its in good condition, mileage is 92,xxx. I love the look of this truck and I am very interested in buying it. I am not too familiar with Toyota's, so is there anything in particular I should look for when inspection the truck?

I currently have a 97 Sonoma bodydropped, suicidedoors and a bunch of other work done to it. I plan on dropping a v8 in it this winter. I don't want to pass up this Toyota though, never seen one around before and I think it would look sick laying body!

Check the condition of the conversion cab. Floor was wood, body is fiberglass. Frame was extended.

    Welcome John!

How about the RN3# or 4# series ('79-'83) as an alternative? They are the best trucks in my opinion. At any rate, let us know on what you decide.

    Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Rick I want to jump on this simply for the fact that its not everyday you find one. My plan would be to buy it now, and hang on to it for a little while. Once I get my s10 finished, this would be my new project.

What you guys think about the asking price? $3k way too much for this thing?
