The gas tank of my 76 pickup is leaking due to rust and it seems that it has been repaired in the past by previous owners as well. I've been looking for a used one at my local junkyards, but I haven't found any at this time, what I want to know is if there's any other gas tank I can use for my truck (IE. later generations gas tanks), mine uses an internal fuel pump, and for my research I found that next generation pickups (79-83?) uses the same fuel pump. so, I think I'm not going to have a problem fitting the fuel pump in, but what about the shape and dimensions? any advice? thanks.

As far as I know the 79-83 uses a mechanical fuel pump on the head, not an in tank.

As far as shapes and sizes and all that stuff, I have no idea..

Trucks came with electric and mechanical pumps. My 78 is in tank, my 84 was on the motor.
