i think your the first person to ever want to go backwards to 4 lug. have you looked into any wheels that you can get a custom offset?

ya ya i know they sell the adapters but im not familiar with the whole conversion. Ya i have checked out tons off wheels that were 5 lug but none have that offset that i want
And the Wheels that have the offset a lot of people are rockin em
I was going to go with 5 lug centerline but a lot trucks here in so cal have em.
:/ so i want to go with old school

try looking at 70's ford rims for a deep lip.

and pre78 corona's have 4 lug and a A arm setup, you could prolly make the rotors/hubs work, and i know there were more then a few 4-lug leaf sprung axl's (vans, corona's, old rolla's).

    these are a ford pattern
    [IMG]

and there is a TON more rim options with a 5 lug then a 4lug.

Pull off your front rotors ( or buy new ones ), rear drums ( or buy new ones ) & axle shafts ( cut the bearings off & remove the backing plates ). Them send your rotors, drums & axles to Dutchman Motorsports http://www.dutchmanms.com/pricesheet.html#Anchor-65143
It's not gonna be cheep, but they'll get it done.

try swaping axles with a toyota van 86 era.. with the pointy front end they are 4 lug.. as for the ft machine your ft hubs to 4x114.4
could also do 4x100 and do the work wheels with the 5.5 inch lip.. 4 spoke ones..

i figured the would be ok with some 15x7 or 16x7 around a +40 offset with 4wd fenders not too sure though i was going to check with a wheel shop to see if they had any recommendations. when in doubt ask a pro, right?

This is almost rediculous. I understand you want a wheel that is different, but trust me, EVERY WHEEL YOU COULD IMAGINE is being run by someone else, somewhere. Different is a hard game to play. If you can think it, someone else has allready thought it! In a quest to be completely different, many car builders have built some extraordinary machines, but they teeter on the line of gawdy. What you need to do is consider what you like (as far as wheels), and start contacting every company out there to find it in a 5-lug. As far as a 3-5 inch lip, I would think that by the time it's all said and done, you would need to flare your fenders out atleast 4inches to get that kind of look. Otherwise you would have to get a wheel about 4-5 inches wide so the extreme offset you desire doesn't put the tire into the frame, or control arms.
