I am attempting to swap out my rear axle on my 78 chassis motorhome (mini-max). I ordered a 6 lug full-floating axle and instead received a 5 lug that looks similar to the existing one. I have been informed that a 1 ton beefed up axle exists. I need to determine if this is what I received. Any help would be appreciated.

The 5 lug 1 ton axle has 30 spline axle shafts and the same 8" ring gear set as the 4 wheel drive axles do. The same axle exists in later trucks under 1 ton single wheel and V6 equipped models.

What you were expecting was the cab & chassis dually with 30 spline full floating shafts and a 6 on 7 3/4" or so bolt pattern.
