can i put the 4runner lights grille and bumper on my 89 without changing the radiator support? what has to be done in order for the swap to turn out?
You must make minor changes to the core support. There are some holes that need to be drilled, and a notch on each headlight hole area. And you may need to customize or make a new bracket that holds up the bumper ends if you have removed your inner fender wells. I have installed 3 4Runner front ends, and my last one took 30 minutes. So, I believe this mod is pretty easy to do.
Come on guys, I know the post may be a little old, but it's not like there aren't a lot of us that are trying to figure out how to do this WITHOUT swapping out the pickup's core support. If there is someone that is in the process of doing this mod, or took pics while they were doing it, can you please post them up?
I think there is a thread on here that the LoLux or someone posted about how to do it the easy way and how to do it the right way that is pretty thourough.
Found numerous little tidbits on the easy way and of course LoLux thread, the right way. Search Toyspd he had quite a few pics of his swap as well http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/exterior-body-41/right-way-do-4-runner-front-end-89-95-a-6548/
Thanks euro! At least I can see the size difference in the two core supports. I'm going to try and get this thing installed pretty soon and any and all help that I can get is more than greatly appreciated!
