Anybody ever done a 3SGTE swap? I wanted a 1JZGTE but unfortunately, there won't be any room to run A/C with it.. and I have to run A/C since this will be my only vehicle for work and towing my bike to the track. I was thinking about the Altezza 3SGTE mated to a Supra tranny but I'm not sure which one. Hopefully the 4runner bumper will give me enough room for an intercooler. Any "useful" info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..

major pita since the 3sgte never came FR in the states, also the trannies are very rare. Your best be would be to look in to some of the ae86 guys that are running a 3sgte.

Lots of money, time, and fab work would be required.

if you want A/C and power do a 3rzfe swap and turbo that engine

You will have to look for the IS200 (220?) from Japan.... they have 3S-GE Beams. Aka Toyota Altezza

7mgte is an easier swap, costs less, and the engine is smaller so that route would probally be the best

In my opinion, the 1JZ is better and the extra expense is worth it. I'm done with the 7M.. been there, done that.. The 1JZ is where I'll put my money on. Thanks for the responses..

I also found a swap kit for the 1JZ/2JZ that works with our truck..

That looks nice and clean! Is that an Altezza 3SGE? What kind of tranny bell housing did you use? It looks like a lot of work.. lots of work.. And I have a regular day job and don't have the time and a freakin shop like most of you. I can't fabricate stuff. I have to buy kits to make this happen. I dunno, I hate to admit but for me (moneywise) I might have to go back to the 7MGTE. I just have to make sure that I change the head studs and get a good metal head gasket..
